Ordinary retirement: age 60 after stopping employment/self-employment, or age 65 regardless; special occupations have different age rules.
About this guide
Checking off a task does not submit an application. The listed scope and special cases determine which documents you need.
Guide reviewed 2026-10-05. Save your checklist here; application and payment happen on the official service.
What you’ll need
Use your existing SS number; enroll a disbursement account through DAEM when filing directly.
Branch claims need a retirement application, accepted ID and payment-account proof. Age 60–64 employed claimants may need separation evidence; dependents and special cases need supporting civil records.
Steps
120 paid months before the retirement semester qualify for the monthly pension. Fewer months may lead to lump sum or continued voluntary contributions.
Official serviceUse UMID-ATM or an approved DAEM account before filing.
Official serviceUse My.SSS for eligible ordinary claims. Guardianship, portability, bilateral agreements, adjustments and other listed exceptions require a branch.
