Documents, costs and steps for this service.
Register the business / profession for tax purposes. DTI name registration and a city business permit do not replace BIR registration. Corporations use a different registration form.
- Cost / amount:
- Loose documentary stamp tax for the Certificate of Registration: ₱30
- The former ₱500 registration fee has been removed; invoice printing / documentary costs are separate
- Processing time:
- Retain the ORUS / receiving-office acknowledgment and follow its validation notices
- Invoice authority / printing and books are separate completion steps
- How to start:
- Use ORUS where the transaction is supported; otherwise submit to the responsible RDO
What to bring
- BIR Form 1901 and the existing TIN, if any
- Identity and proof supporting the address / requested change
Prepare the government ID and the address evidence listed for your category. Add DTI registration when using a registered business name.
- Invoicing and books setup
Choose BIR-printed invoices or an authorized printing route as applicable; register books through the supported ORUS / RDO procedure. Keep the registration certificates and QR evidence.
How to apply
- 1Choose the correct BIR transaction
Use the self-employed / sole-proprietor route. Partnerships and corporations use Form 1903 and their own documentary list.
- 2Submit documents and keep the acknowledgment
Use the supported ORUS transaction or the RDO’s receiving channel. Respond to document-validation requests.
- 3Pay the assessed stamp tax and complete invoices / books
Save the Certificate of Registration (COR). Check the registered tax types and filing obligations; complete the applicable invoice and books requirements before issuing invoices.
